Developing close and beneficial links with businesses is fundamentally important and advantageous to both university and businesses. University - businesses relationships strengthen community awareness and participation in the education process and contribute to innovation and high achievement in the university. In particular, university - businesses relationships can support the delivery of educational services, enrich the university curriculum and enhance student learning.
It also assists students to develop awareness of career opportunities with employers and business organizations. It further provides opportunities for students to participate in a range of work-related activities such as work experience, mandatory work placements, mentoring with business staff and career shadowing.
The MSD has further included the Organization Based Learning pathway which has turned out to be the single most important course in the B.Sc. (Hons.) in Applied Management program. The aim of this course is to help students develop an understanding of a business organization in its physical form and make connections between academic theory and professional practice for their professional development. The employers nevertheless benefit from this course in a number of ways such as:
