Job Description:

·         Supervising, managing and evaluating the daily activities and operating systems, as well as dealing with all general administration, procurement, IT operations, facilities management, and capital project functions.

·         Ensuring that regional office operational policies, including IT, administration, security, logistics, procurement, capital projects and facility maintenance, are in place, and are implemented effectively;

·         Ensuring that regional operations are in line with those at the central office, liaising regularly with Head of Operations and other stake holders.

·         Travelling as needed to all units to ensure smooth and harmonized operations, providing management support as necessary

·         Assisting in the review of the regional office operational budget and strategic plans

·         Overseeing the operations team to ensure that procurement management is done on planned, timely manner and that fleet management is well organized and coordinated with all sectors

·     Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence in coordination with functional unit heads

It is one of the largest third-sector networks of educational institutions in Pakistan and part of an international network of over 200 schools spread in 8 countries of the world under the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN).

Reaching out to the remotest areas of the country, AKES,P has been providing quality education in the region for the past 110 years. It is a direct provider of education for nearly 36,000 students from pre-primary to higher secondary levels and facilitates access to higher education through the provision of scholarships, hostels and other educational support services.With more than 2,000 employees, of whom over 1,500 areteachers, AKES,P is also supported by over 2,000 volunteers.

In Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, the first AKES,P schools were setup in the 1940s; since then they have contributed significantly toincreasing the literacy rates and social development in theremote, mountainous, harsh and ecologically fragile regions ofNorthern Pakistan. AKES,P currently operates 151 schools inGilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, providing education to over 27,000students, of which 54% are girls. Through these efforts, AKES,Pis continuing to play a critical role in women’s development inthe region.

In the Southern Region, AKES,P operates four schools in Karachi,three in Hyderabad and rural Sindh and one in Hafizabad,Punjab, with over 8,900 students. All AKES,P schools follow theNational Curriculum but place special emphasis on the teachingof English, Mathematics, Science and the increasing use ofInformation and Communication Technologies (ICT).
