Qualified and experienced candidate for the post of Food Technologist is required.
As a food technologist, your primary responsibility is to ensure that food product (Nimko) is safe and meet specific standards. It's likely you'll also be involved in developing the manufacturing processes and recipes of Nimko. This could involve working on both existing and newly-discovered ingredients to invent new recipes and concepts.
You will often work closely with the product development teams to help deliver factory-ready recipes, based on development kitchen samples. Keeping up with ever-changing food production regulations will be an essential part of your job.
Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor Degree in food technology, nutrition and quality management Work experience
4 to 5 years work experience in the food (Nimko) manufacturing industry at the same position is mandatory

Responsibilities
As a food technologist, you'll need to:
- Testing individual ingredients or finished products for safety, physical and sensory properties (such as taste and smell)
- Selecting and developing suitable preservation methods (such as canning, drying)
- Modify existing products and processes and develop new ones
- Check and improve safety and quality control procedures in your own and suppliers' factories, from the raw material stage through to the finished product
- Select raw materials and other ingredients from suppliers
- Prepare product costings based on raw materials and manufacturing costs to ensure profitable product
- Run trials of new products - either alongside or together with product development
- Coordinate launches of new products
- Deal with any customer complaint investigations or product issues
- Work on packaging innovation and technology
- Conduct experiments and produce sample products
- Build relationships with suppliers and customers
